Are you challenged with dry mouth, dry eyes, dry skin, chronic coughing, or constantly fatigued? Here are a few natural remedies for Sjorgren’s syndrome.
Sjorgren’s syndrome is an autoimmune disease that is commonly mistaken for dry eyes and dry mouth, and can cause severe pain and fatigue around the sinuses, GI tract, lungs, kidneys, and nervous system.
It is common for people with Sjorgren’s to also have other autoimmune issues such as Epstein-Barr virus or Lupus, which come out of remission most likely due to high stress or stressful events.
There are two types of T cells involved in the result of this syndrome: 1) TH17 (T-Helper Cell) and 2) T-REG (T Regulatory Cell).
TH17 cells are most commonly known for their role in attacking pathogens, bacteria, and fungi. When it’s out of balance, it can begin to attack your own tissues.
T-Reg cells whose primary role is protecting tissues from being attacked– attacked by our own immune system.
Therefore, Sjorgren’s is resulting from an increase in TH17 cells and a decrease in T-REG cells creating an autoimmune response leading to inflammation
Many studies have also linked these issues to poor gut health. It’s important to focus on diet and detoxification to improve your gut health to help fight these autoimmune issues and keep them at bay. See data sources below.
